This project focusses on providing a free Shelter Home(6000 Sqft) for the Urban Homeless including the abandoned elderly, mentally challenged, deserted women and orphaned children in Thanjavur Dt,Tamilnadu,India.

1) Summary of the Project
This project focusses on providing a free Shelter Home(6000 Sqft) for the Urban Homeless including the abandoned elderly, mentally challenged, deserted women and orphaned children in Thanjavur Dt,Tamilnadu,India.

2) Challenge:
Homeless persons have to sleep rough under the open sky. Hunger, deprivation, and exclusion of homeless persons occur almost every day. Unclaimed corpses, especially during peaks of winter and summer bear silent testimony to the era of homelessness and exclusion. It is a life of destitution, combined with hunger, intense social devaluation, and extreme vulnerability. Urban Homeless in Thanjavur do not have a Shelter to spend their nights. There are over 200 homeless persons in Thanjavur struggling to have dignified lives on a daily basis. They do not have access to food, medical care and safety.

3) Solution
a) Providing them with a safe roof over their head in the form a Shelter Home
b) Providing them with food, water, functional toilets and elevated beds.
c) Medical support on a daily basis to all the Homeless persons

4) Impact:
All those Urban Homeless will spend the rest of their lives with happiness and gratitude. They will end their lives too- with dignity.

BUDGET: One Sq ft Cost @ 30$ X 6000 Sq ft= 180000 $
